People often apologise for becoming emotional during a reading, but honestly, there’s never any need.
Very often, the tears aren’t just about grief.
They come from recognition and when I see those tears I know I have truly touched that person's soul.
From hearing something that suddenly brings a loved one vividly back into the moment again - their personality, their humour, the tiny details nobody else would know.
And sometimes it’s simply the relief of feeling connected to them again after carrying so much sadness for so long.
That emotional release can be incredibly healing.
Not because mediumship “takes grief away”, but because it reminds people that love, connection and presence don’t simply disappear.
And for many people, that changes something deeply within them.
So when I see those tears, I know I have truly touched that person's soul and I know my work is done.
